Great Book!!

The other day I checked out a STACK of books from our library on fertility. I can only imagine what the guy checking Michael out thought (Michael went to get them all for me) since we pretty much needed a truck to take them home :) The first book I read is GREAT!!! I highly recommend it, and it is now our featured book. My acupunctarist recommended it to me. It's called The Infertility Cure, The ancient Chinese Wellness Program for Getting Pregnant and Having Healthy Babies by Randine Lewis, Ph.D. The author began studying western med. She wanted to be a doctor, but halfway in her training she realized that western medicine doesn't always get the whole picture, so she switched to TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) and got her PhD in that. What I love about this is because she studied western med, she explains TCM perfectly. It's like she wrote this book for sceptics of TCM. I finally understand what Qi and Essence mean (well, at least I understand better...). She is able to...

My experience with Accupuncture, herbs and MSAS

Image
Well, I'm back from a wonderful 10-day trip to MI and it was great to see some fellow Faith, Hope and Sorrow friends! While there, I was able to see the accupunctarist Stephanie has been going to. Let me just say, I highly recommend trying Traditional Chinese Medicine! Accupuncture was amazing! And I was given some herbs that are the worst tasting thing in my life, but have already made a difference in how i feel. If considering going the way of needles, check and see if the accupunctarist has an MSAS (I think that is what is it called) machine. It stands for something like Meridian something Assesment something... ok, so I don't remember what it stands for, but it was AMAZING! I included a picture of one of the machines in this post. What happened was, I held the metal bar in one hand and then she used the little black pointer thing (it reminded me of a ball point pen... no needles) and she touched 62 or so different "meridians" or points on my hands and feet that c...

Book Review and some background

I'm sure many of you know about the book featured at right, but if not, let me give some info on this great book! Perhaps I should back up to some info that I didn't mention in my first intro. Starting in Jan I had some HORRID pain in my lower left side. It coincided with ovulation and was so bad that one attack happened while I was shopping and I had to have someone complete my grocery list and call my husband to tell him to come home to help me unload. This happened every other month until I couldn't take it any longer and I went in to the dr. I had an ultrasound and was told I had hydrosalpinx which = blocked tubes. Crazy thing about this diagnosis is I have never had an PID (Pelvic inflamatory disease) which comes about from an STI (Which I've never had the chance of getting) which is the cause for hydrosalpinx. But I was prepared for the worse and went to 3 doctors. The last doctor finally read the ultrasound report to me and told me I had nothing to worry about. H...
