Odd

I sent this email to Hope (if you havent caught on, shes my SIL) and she had no idea what could be going on so she suggested I post it here and see if you girls might have an idea. Here goes...

I am on Day 35 or so of my cycle and usually have my period around day 24. I took a pregnancy test and its negative and i have some ovulation type symptoms(almost eggwhite fluid) so i took an ovulation test and it was positive (for about the 3rd time this cycle). What could be going on?

Are you tracking your temps? Did you have a clear temp shift? Is it possible that your body tried to ovulate, but didn't, and now it's trying again?

Yeah, I'd definitely start tracking temps... even starting now wher eyou are in your cycle may clue you in. If you have temps all over the place, or really low, then, my guess is you haven't ovulated and your body is making another attempt. Sometimes the 2nd, 3rd, attempt works... other times your body just gives up and starts annovulatory bleeding. I'm interested in knowing how long this keeps up before your body just restarts itself.

You can get false surges throughout a cycle, kind of like your body gears up to ovulate and then doesn't quite make it. There is really no "true" late period; because the luteal phase is pretty constant...it's the follicular phase before ovulation that can vary. So when people say their period is "late", it probably isn't..they probably just haven't ovulated yet.

Let's hope this is the real ovulation this time!! I agree with the others, definitely start charting!
